Getting Married at His Place

In order to get married at His Place, you must meet one of these conditions:

  • One (or both) of you attends His Place and will be married by a His Place pastor.

  • One (or both) of you attends His Place and will be married by another pastor approved by His Place.

  • Neither of you attend His Place, but the wedding will be performed by a His Place pastor.

The church is not available for couples who do not attend His Place and want to be married by a non-His Place pastor.

Step 1. Determine wedding and rehearsal dates.

Keep the following in mind when planning your wedding date:

  • A large wedding normally requires a preparation time of four to six months.

  • Weddings may not be scheduled during the two weeks prior to Easter. After the second Saturday in November through the first Saturday in January no weddings may be scheduled due to Operation Christmas Child collection and Christmas-related demands.

  • Holidays other than those above may pose extra difficulties for attendance and also for hiring services.

  • Saturday weddings may not be scheduled after 4:00 pm.

  • No weddings will be scheduled on Sundays.

  • A simple wedding (with an attendance of less than 50 people) may be scheduled with fewer restrictions on the date and time. Click here for more information.

Step 2. Reserve the church

  • Your wedding and rehearsal must be scheduled through the main office.

  • $400 (typically non-refundable) is due at the time of your reservation, which covers the following:

    • Cleaning fee

    • Wedding coordinator basic fee (additional packages are available)

    • Sound engineer fee

    • A simple wedding, without any of the above services may be scheduled if attendance will be less than 50 people. There is a $50 facility use fee for a simple wedding. Click here for more information.

Step 3. Contact the His Place wedding coordinator and pastor

  • Call and schedule a meeting with a His Place Church coordinator: Karen Trotter, at (360) 757-3111 or send her an e-mail. You will receive our Wedding Planner, which will cover the details.

  • Call the church at (360) 757-3111 or email to confirm availability of one of our wedding pastors: Nick Harris or John Birk. Due to time constraints, our senior pastor, Bruce Wersen, is not available to perform weddings.

  • Your wedding pastor will immediately schedule a time for you to complete the Life Innovations pre-marital questionnaire, which will be used in your premarital counseling. A check for $35 (per couple) made out to His Place is necessary at that time.
