God doesn’t want those created in His image to be ashamed of their being. But, their doing? Well, that’s another story.
Jesus disappoints so many, so deeply, so often. Know why? His failure … to meet our expectations: our subtle assumptions that He’ll bless, protect, and answer us in our predetermined way.
Ephesians 2:12 reminds us Gentiles that our forefathers were, at one time, separated from God. It also reminds us how blessed we are to live in a time when Christ has already died for our sin on the cross.
We need a plan, to be on the path to perfection, and it includes finding the start, finding the finish, drawing a line, and walking the line.
Everything down here has an expiration date. And that’s why Jesus looks up to heaven and sighs: for both our physical and our spiritual condition.
To get Jesus’ attention, we often cry out in a way we think He wants to hear. We use the right words, but they’re empty words … until we’re housebroken!
When God opened the disciples’ understanding, they realized that Jesus had been destined for the cross, and had to shed that divine blood, for the forgiveness of sin.
We’re empowered to re-gift forgiveness only if and when we see it as gratitude for the greatest gracious gift ever bestowed on us.
Anyone can spot a flaw; no special talent is required. But, confronting and dealing with sin in a merciful, loving, humble, understanding way, now that’s a gift!
