When feeding some lust is our highest hope for happiness, we’ve been badly conned by our own deceitful heart and disordered desires.
We often view self-control as mainly willpower. But Joseph doesn’t focus on suppressing his desire for sin; but, expressing his desire for God.
Vulnerability is not weakness! Vulnerability is the courageous display of imperfections.
It’s easy to think you’re just sitting in the audience; when the truth is, you’re on the stage. Not only are you not irrelevant, for heaven’s sake, you’re the center of attention.
Kindness just wants to numb the pain or alleviate the suffering. But love is deeper, more stern. Love longs to help face the pain, to walk through it.
Tell yourself the truth: do you put more energy into peacemaking or troublemaking? Because, we all slide to one side of that scale!
We’re called to discern, but warned not to condemn. But before you take off on someone, we better go through a “pre-fight” checklist.
