Ephesians 2:12 reminds us Gentiles that our forefathers were, at one time, separated from God. It also reminds us how blessed we are to live in a time when Christ has already died for our sin on the cross.
When God opened the disciples’ understanding, they realized that Jesus had been destined for the cross, and had to shed that divine blood, for the forgiveness of sin.
Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection have redeemed us. And our redemption comes simply from our faith that Christ has done this, plus nothing!
God created marriage to walk in a loving relationship, yoked with Christ and yoked together. So God ordained a recipe for how a marriage made in Heaven works.
The only way we can be the perfect church, the holy church, is Christ in us. So when God looks on us, all He sees is the works of His Son, and we’ll be righteous in the sight of God.
In scripture, “the heart” refers to the invisible part of us (the soul, the mind, the will) that is made in the image of God.
